Al Marmoom
Industrial Design, UAE
Overview
Al Marmoom is the UAE’s first unfenced nature conservation reserve, covering nearly 10% of Dubai’s total land area. Designed to preserve the delicate desert ecosystem while inviting the public to engage with nature respectfully, the reserve integrates environmental preservation with community-focused design.
I was part of the core concept team, responsible for shaping the initial vision and design direction of the reserve. My role extended beyond ideation—I led the semantic design development and detailing, ensuring every structure, space, and experience aligned with the ecological context and storytelling of the desert landscape.
This project was a deep dive into designing with restraint and reverence, where nature led and design followed. From material choices to visitor flow, every element was crafted to offer a minimal-footprint, high-impact interaction with the environment.
